Sailor Kakyuu Pin-Up

This is for 's contest of doing a Sailor Pin-Up based on certain stock. I decided to use this one: This was inked with a Micron Pen, but there's no mixed media in cases like this, so I'm going with Digital Category (since that's the bulk of it)

I was originally going to use another reference but uh, that one didn't turn out well.



I wasn't sure about who to draw for this contest; I sincerely did not feel like drawing the same old Sailor Senshi xD I wanted to draw someone who had few art done of them...so I decided to draw Sailor Kakyuu, who has next to almost no fan art done of her xD (There are about 2-3 pieces on DA, they're pretty nice)

The only problem I had with this were the BRIGHT RED colors of Kakyuu's fuku (I felt like I went blind at some point literally, because I couldn't differentiate shades anymore @_@) and her legs. Drawing legs folded like that is hard


Still, I like how it came out. I tried to look up old pin-ups pictures to see how the bg worked, how the coloring/shaidng worked. I wasn't going to have enough time to do that type of shading, so I opted for flat colors
